Tier I Girls
The Girls Tier II State Championship brings together top teams from across Illinois to compete for state titles and the chance to advance to USA Hockey District and National Championships at the older age levels. The tournament features divisions at 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 19U, showcasing the depth and growth of girls’ hockey in Illinois.
State Tournament Format
The Girls Tier II State Tournament is organized by age classification. Seeding of registered teams is done through an age specific Rankings Meeting hosted by the Girls Committee. The head coach for each team attends the Rankings Meeting for the age group they coach. The Girls Tournament Chair then builds the brackets for each group & the match-ups are published..
Depending on the age group and the number of teams registered, teams may play one or two rounds of single-elimination games. The top four teams then advance to the round-robin weekend, where each team plays three games.
At the end of round-robin play, the two teams with the most points advance to the State Championship Game. The champion is decided in a single game.
All State Tournament Rules (Tournament Invite, Round Robin & Championship Day) for Girls Tier II can be found on this page.
