Tier I Youth
The Tier I State Championship is the highest level of youth and girls hockey in Illinois. Top AAA teams compete for state titles and the opportunity to advance to USA Hockey District and National Championships.
State Tournament Format
Illinois Tier I teams play each other once in the lead-up to the State Tournament. The top two teams in each age group advance to the State Championship.
The championship is decided in a best-of-three series, with the winner earning the title of State Champion. The State Championship winner for National Bound Teams automatically advances to the Central District tournament, playing for the opportunity to advance to the National Championships.
