Officiating Committee

The Officiating Committee oversees all aspects of on-ice officiating in Illinois. Its responsibilities include registering, training, evaluating, and setting standards of conduct for officials. The committee works as a liaison between AHAI, USA Hockey, officials’ associations, and Member Organizations. It ensures rule interpretations are communicated clearly and consistently. 

To support qualified officiating, the committee provides education, mentoring, evaluations, and opportunities for officials to gain experience in competitive environments. It also coordinates assignments for AHAI-sponsored games and helps ensure officials are fairly compensated. 

The Officiating Committee works in close collaboration with the Illinois Hockey Officials Association (IHOA).
