Tier II Info
Tier II hockey in Illinois provides a competitive, community-based experience that emphasizes both skill development and accessibility. Sanctioned by USA Hockey and governed by AHAI, Tier II organizations operate throughout the state, offering families high-quality programs without the extensive travel and time commitments often associated with Tier I.
These clubs are designed to develop players of varying abilities while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game. Tier II hockey serves as the backbone of youth hockey in Illinois, offering a strong balance of competition and development for players at all age levels. Many Tier II organizations compete in the Central States Hockey League, which offers divisions, levels and tiers to adapt to a variety of teams.
