The Chicago Blackhawk Alumni announced the recipients of this year's annual Blackhawk Alumni Scholarship Award.

The recipients are Rafael Biedron from Adlai E. Stevenson High School, Madeleine Arend from New Trier High School and Pierce Romo from Highland Park High School.

The Alumni Association was formed in 1987 by former Blackhawks players (Stan Mikita, Keith Magnuson, Cliff Koroll and many others) with one of the main goals being giving back to the Illinois youth hockey, high school in particular. As part of this charge, the Alumni awards three annual scholarships in the amount of $7,500.00 per year for four years totaling $30,000.00.

The entire Illinois hockey family salutes all of those individuals who applied for these scholarships and congratulates these three fine young people on their accomplishments and wish them the best as they move on to college life in the Fall.
